Just in time for Halloween, it is John Clay with the canopy of Solar Miner V making a fashion statement.

Progress made on Saturday

On Saturday we completed construction of the .75" plywood ribs for the body mold of our next car, Solar Miner VI. We used the five axis waterjet at the Rock Mechanics building to cut them to the exact dimensions required. Half-inch foam was then epoxied to the ribs and held in place by sand bags. On October 10th the Solar Car Team attended the ribbon cutting of Kokam America's new manufacturing facility in Lee's Summit, MO. Kokam has previously sponsored the team and we look forward to their continued support of Solar Miner VI. All involved had a great time showing Solar Miner IV, the North American Solar Challenge 2003 champion, meeting with Senator Bond, and representatives of Kokam America.
